What’s Hot: Tour de France Memorabilia

Hello eBay Sellers, I’m HammerTap’s Jen Cano with a What’s Hot on eBay newsflash.

With the Tour de France underway, I took a peek at Tour de France items in the Sporting Goods category, using HammerTap research software.

It only took me about 10 seconds to find that these items sell about 67% of the time. But, of course, I wanted to pinpoint the hottest-selling items and figure out how to best sell them. 100% of Discovery Channel team items sold. Those items that sold for higher prices sold as regular auctions with Buy It Now and they ended on a Friday. Most surprising is that items with a Gallery Picture sold for an average of $7 more per listing than those without the picture.

What’s Hot: Collectible Dolls

Hello eBay Sellers, I’m HammerTap’s Jen Cano with a What’s Hot on eBay newsflash.

Today, let’s take a look at collectable dolls. When I used HammerTap software to conduct a category-wide research on 20,000 listings in the Dolls by Brand category, I found that an astounding 96% sold! But, as usual, I wanted to know more. Here’s what I found.

If you’re selling American Character dolls, Betsy McCall is your winner. Use the words tag, box, MIB, or Mint to dramatically increase your selling price. If you sell another popular doll, American Girl, Kristen is the best money-maker. But, for overall top-profit for the category, Annette Himstedt and Arranbee dolls take the cake!
