What’s Hot: Bike Racks

Hello eBay Sellers, I’m HammerTap’s Jen Cano with a What’s Hot on eBay newsflash.

So, what’s hot this week? Knowing the right way to list an item can make all the difference between what’s hot and what’s not. I used HammerTap to look up bike racks and discover exactly which racks are selling, as well as how to sell them.

My quick research shows that Yakima bike racks for cars are selling 75% of the time on average, with an average selling price of $68. But you know me, I’m not satisfied with the average, and you shouldn’t be either. List these racks with Buy It Now and a reserve price, and end it on a Tuesday to rake in an average of $10 to $40 more per rack.

What’s Hot: Boys Back-to-School Jeans

Hello eBay Sellers, I’m HammerTap’s Jen Cano with a What’s Hot on eBay newsflash.

Last week I told you about the hottest-selling brands and labels for girls’ jeans on the eBay market. Since we don’t want to leave the boys out, today I’ll talk about boys back-to-school jeans, and of course I’m going to use HammerTap research software to do it.

Unlike with girl’s jeans, there is one clear winner for boys jeans. No matter how you slice it, Abercrombie jeans sell well. Every size, every label, and every style. 93% of all boys’ Abercrombie jeans, size 8 and up sell. If I were you, I’d check to see which styles sell 100% of the time, because there are many!

What’s Hot: Girls Back-to-School Jeans

Hello eBay Sellers, I’m HammerTap’s Jen Cano with a What’s Hot on eBay newsflash.

School is just weeks away for millions of kids across the United States. So, today I’m looking at girl’s back-to-school jeans on the eBay market, and of course I’m going to use HammerTap research software to do it.

About 50% of girls jeans, size 7 and up, are selling. And, what’s not too surprising is that some brands perform better than others, and that some labels of the same brand outsell others. Take Gymboree, for example. Gymboree sells only about 60% of the time, but sales on Gymboree’s My Best Friend sell 78% of the time, and Teacher’s Pet reaches 88%.

What’s Hot: Swamp Coolers

Hello eBay Sellers, I’m HammerTap’s Jen Cano with a What’s Hot on eBay newsflash.

This summer we’ve had record heat, and cooling products and systems are still thriving on the eBay market. I used HammerTap research software to discover what is selling best.

Air conditioners, in general are selling about 57% of the time, in comparison to swamp coolers, which are selling 78% of the time. Since there are many categories to list in, I was interested in which category was attracting more buyers for swamp coolers.

A majority of the coolers were listed in the Heating, Cooling, & Air > Other category, and sold around 75% of the time. However, a few hundred swamp coolers were listed in the Heating, Cooling, & Air > Portable Air Conditioners category, and sold nearly 90% of the time!

If you want to know which category will attract more buyers for your products, visit HammerTap.com. That’s HammerTap.com.
